Samy received a B. M. in Composition from Berklee College of Music with honors (Magna Cum Laude) and a Youth Concerts at Symphony Hall award.

Since 1998, he leads a successful career as an orchestrator/arranger, and is specialized in orchestral arrangements and orchestral transcription (re-orchestration). He has sat in with a wide range of Greek and international artists, arranging and orchestrating songs and large scale classical pieces. Among his clients are, Michael Karras, Haris Alexiou, Mimis Plessas, Alkistis Protopsalti, Jannis Georgiadis, Stefanos Korkolis, and many others.

His orchestrations and arrangements have been performed in major concert halls in Greece, the Megaron Concert Hall, Herodeon Theater, Epidaurus Little Theater, and Athens National Opera among others, as well as in concerts and music festivals in Europe.

Samy's scores have been performed by prestigious symphony and chamber orchestras: Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Amadeus, City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, Feminarte, Camerata, Contemporary Orchestra of ERT, The Sofia Radio Symphony Orchestra, etc.

His work has been released by major and independent record labels, such as BMG, Universal, Polydor, Modern Times, etc. In 2002 and 204 he had the privilege to participate as an arranger in The Sunday of Orthodoxy Concert, a musical event in tribute to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Constantinople.

In 2005, Samy and his collaborator Fofi Maniadaki released the debut album of Honest Touch, titled "Memories From A Dream". Samy composed, arranged and produced the album. In 2002, the song “Luce Lontana” won First Prize in the instrumental category and Third overall in the WCS Song Contest. In 2006, the album was nominated among the Finalists of the 2007 Independent Music Awards (USA) in the New Age category and was voted as the people's favorite New Age album in the "Vox Populi" Jukebox voting. Among the judges of these prestigious awards were, Peter Gabriel, Ozzy Osbourne, and Suzanne Vega.

Samy is a professional copyist, both by hand and computer, for many years. He is regarded as an expert in Finale music notation program and he is among the Finale support team of the Greek dealer Fagotto Music. In 1997 he founded ScoreMasters®, a team of professional copyists. Today, ScoreMasters offers a multitude of music production services.

Parallel to his recording career, Samy is a successful music professor. Since 1993, he has been teaching classical and contemporary theory and music technology in several conservatories in Athens and privately. He has written a manual of contemporary and classical music theory, "Fundamentals of Musicianship" and a music technology manual, "Introduction to Music Technology".
